3. Cervical Softening for a Smoother Insertion
For patients who haven’t had children, or those with a tight cervix, we use a gentle cervical softener to make the process easier and less physically stressful.

Feeling anxious? You have options. We offer Penthrox—a fast-acting, inhaled analgesic (sometimes called “the green whistle”) that you self-administer for additional comfort. This option is reviewed during your screening call, so you can decide what’s right for you.
5. Ultrasound Follow-Up at 4–6 Weeks
We don’t just send you on your way and hope for the best. You’ll be booked for a follow-up ultrasound 4–6 weeks after insertion to confirm your IUD is in place and that you’re feeling well. It’s one more way we ensure long-term success and support.
